3D Design | PurrPet Promotional Items.

This project was done in part of a larger project where we went through the process of creating a faux company, including objectives, strategies, products and services, marketing strategies and finally promotional items. While the execution of the promotional item didn't have to be 3D, I wanted to make it as realistic as possible.

PROCESS

As our company and all its aspects were already thought out, I tried to figure out which products and services would be the most helpful for both humans and pets. I ended up landing on a split, dog toys/accessories with some doubling as items able to be used by the owners, as well as a key tag to help promote.

With those ideas in mind, I started by using spheres and cutouts to mimic the shape that I wanted the tug-of-war toy to be, then refined the look and feel so they felt less blocky. Moving onto the bandana I made a thin square and triangle and proceeded to extrude it so it looked three-dimensional and less flat. Finally, for the last of the toys, I worked with lofts to create the outer shape of a frisbee and used cutouts to retract the underside to make it more realistic.

As for the business card, I used the same ideas as with the bandana, ensuring while it was slim, it still felt like a proper three-dimensional object. I also made cutouts to make the idea into keychain business cards as well as your standard type. Finally, I found some textures to replicate the visual aspects of how they would look in person and integrated our brand colours and logos to complete the process.
