Graphic Design | Portrait Photography.

This project was done in preparation for our future, as it is important to have proffessional or high quality photos ready for jobs and other media. The project was made up of a set of 3 poses, a headshot, a waist-up shot, and a full body shot. Then were slightly edited to bring out the best result.

PROCESS

For this assignment, our group of five took turns taking photos of each other with our set camera settings. We went around campus finding different backgrounds that would work well with our different outfits, specifically those that were less visually distracting.

Then out of the photos we took, we selected the three shots needed and swapped photos. With the photos I got from Priya Crane, I went about editing them in Camera Raw. Making simple adjustments to the temperature and hue as well as adding extra sharpness to help highlight her features and colour grade the image.

I then continued to edit in Photoshop, adjusting curves and brightness/contrast settings, while ensuring I tried to keep the colours consistent across the three photos with adjustments to hue/saturation when needed.

With the waist-up shot, the reflections on the glasses turned a teal colour, so I ended up colour-correcting as best I could with colour fill and adjusted the overlay. There were also a few minor appearance details I dealt with that appeared in the original photos, to ensure Priya looked her best.
